-Actor -
Job description- An actor is supposed to bring a fictional character to life in an effective and believable way.
Responsibilities - The actor is the public face of the production and represents the whole production to the public. They work in the production stage.
Production process - The actor works in the production stage and works on actually making the production.
-Art Director -
Job Description- To realise the production managers vision for the sets and locations to be used in the production.
Responsibilities- How sets look is mostly down to the art director so how the production looks falls to the art director.
Production process - The art director works in the Pre-Production stage. They work on planning the look of the production.
-Camera Operator -
Job description - The camera operator works with the director and the director of photography in order to achieve the desired visual style of the production.
Responsibilities - The camera operator is responsible for assessing how all the aspects of the set come together on the camera.
Production process - The Camera operator starts work at the end of the pre-production stage but works mostly in the production stage and on making the production.
-Editor -
Job description - Work closely with the director in order to craft the daily rushes into a coherent piece. They also make sure that the story flows smoothly from beginning to end.
Responsibilities - They are responsible for making the story clear and coherent from beginning to end. On bigger productions they are also responsible for a team of first assistant editors and second assistants and trainees.
Production process - The editor works mostly in the post-production stage but does also work closely with the director during the production stage.
-Concept artist -
Job description - The concept artists produce the designs that help the production designers to realise their vision.
Responsibilities -The responsibilities of the concept artist consist mostly of creating the base design for things that the production designer will later build upon.
Production process - The concept artist works in the pre-production stage. Their work is relate to making the production.
-Location manager -
Job description - The location manager is the person who finds the locations where the production will be shot and also manage the location during shooting.
Responsibilities - The Location manager is responsible for negotiating the fees and terms for a location, they also discuss the permissions for the location.
Production process - The Location manager works in the the pre-production and production stages. This is related to the planning of the production.
-Sound designer -
Job description -The job of the sound designer is to create the sound effects for things in the production such as explosions or a car crash. They also manage the sound in post-production.
Responsibilities - The sound designer is responsible for creating a lot of the sound in the production e.g. Door closing/opening, Gunshots etc.
Production process - The sound designer works in both the production and post-production stages. This is related to the making of the production.
- Storyboard artist -
Job description - The storyboard artist is the person who draws pictures on a storyboard to represent the events in the script.
Responsibilities - The storyboard artist is responsible for the structuring of complicated scenes such as chases or scenes that contain large amounts of CGI.
Production process - The storyboard artist works in the pre-production stage. They meet with the director to discuss the directors vision for the production. The work of the storyboard artist is related to the planning of the production.
- Advertising and editorial photographer -
Job description - The advertising and editorial photographer is the person who takes photos in order to help sell and promote a project.
Responsibilities - The advertising and editorial photographer's responsiblities include how the idea is visually portrayed to the public.
Production process - The advertising and editorial photographer works in the production and post-production stages of the project. Their work is related to the making of the production.
